The Bucket Story

What is a Blessing Bucket? Well before I give an awesome definition there is a story to be told.

I am recently new to the blogging world, a mere child. I only began a blog as part of serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was quite the feat for me as my past attempts at blogging have been pathetic to say the least. But I came up with a catchy name and a posting I went. Oh the struggles that came. It is not easy for me to share my feelings and thoughts with others, so I pushed and I forced. Each post took great effort and each post brought me joy, a sense of accomplishment. I started to see that I could be a part of this blogging world. That I could share my faith with others. That maybe I could touch at least one person and help them come to know Christ. Then the worst happened.

I lost my blog.

Through changes in email, my carelessness, and a click of a button I accidentally deleted my blog. First confusion, then seething, followed by tears, with some whining, and finally defeat. It was gone. My desire to write and share also slipped away. There was nothing to show for what all my hard work. The bucket where I had put all my thoughts, feelings, and effort was empty.

But one section from a letter from my mom keep coming to my mind, "Your blog is having an effect on many people. I am sure you will never know how far reaching it is, but you can be sure that as you keep doing it and remaining in tune, the Lord will use it as a tool for great good." If my blog was touching hearts how could I give up? I couldn't.

So here is the new bucket, the Blessing Bucket. A place where I can recognize the blessings God has given me and help others be blessed too.

(Props go out to Sister McCall for helping me create the Blessing Bucket.)
